If you knew for certain that we were about to plunge into another massive economic downturn as we experienced during the “Great Recession”, how would you respond? The events of the second half of 2008 took almost everyone by surprise, and the vast majority of the population was completely unprepared for what happened next. Millions of Americans lost their jobs, and that meant that they were suddenly unable to pay their bills. Countless households got behind on their mortgages and rent payments, and we witnessed a dramatic spike in foreclosures and evictions. I wish that we would never have to see such suffering again, but unfortunately, it is already starting to happen right in front of our eyes.
The Biden administration keeps insisting that the U.S. economy is in good condition, but if that is the case why are so many large companies now laying off workers?
What is the idea for before its news?
As we were following the 2008 election, we noticed something very interesting — bloggers covered many of the breaking stories days before the alphabet soup news outlets (NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, AP, MSNBC, FOX, etc.).
Important facts were omitted or ignored by the mainstream media mainly because these facts inconveniently do not fit into the memes these outlets routinely promote. In other words, there is a strong bias amongst most corporate media outlets.
Think for a moment about where mainstream media gets their news…from press releases, events, and other specialized sources. Many times, these sources are also publicly
available — for example from press releases, government and university websites, and individuals with access and knowledge of newsworthy events.
Yes, journalists do investigative work to look at the facts, ask important questions, and usually try to get both sides of each story, but sadly, this is becoming less frequent as the advertising revenue sources for newspapers and broadcast media have dwindled.
