Channagiri
Elevated at 1350m above sea level it is a two and a half hour trek . Closer to Nandi hills , Skandagiri and Savandurga it will leave you spellbound with beautiful scenic and green – lushed view . This trek is very easy for beginners and even for children . Located 60km from Bangalore and 30km from Bangalore airport the best season to do this trek is from September to February. Channagiri also has a hill fort with Ranganath temple inside , dedicated to Shree Ranganath . The temple is worth visiting as it rises 200 feet above and has lot of historical pieces and monuments.
Madhugiri
Madhugiri is located in Tumkur district and is a single hill associated with no other sister hills or something. It is also the second largest monolith in Asia. Elevated at 3950 ft, this trek is located 110km away from Bangalore . It takes half a day to complete and is quite steep , tricky and rough throughout. For beginners it might be a little tough as the trek follows through Rocky terrains and with very steep climbing. You can also visit Madhugiri Fort which is famous for its specific architecture.

Handi Gundi Betta
Handi Gundi Betta is a beautiful place with panoramic views of Ramadeverleetha and Kabbaldurga . This trek takes 3-4 hours to complete and provides you a wonderful ride surrounding monolithic hills and animals. You can also visit that location where Sholay was shot that will replenish your Bollywood 70s vibes memories. You can also witness a twin hill called Ram – Lakshman hill which has so many mythological stories with it. Start your trek early in the morning so that you can witness the beautiful sunset at peak. With few water bodies in the way, trekking at Handi Gundi Betta will immerse you in the beauty of nature.
Siddarabetta
Also called ” Hill of Saints” Siddarabetta is a beautiful trekking spot with Rocky terrains , quaint landscapes and scenic views of mesmerizing terrains . It takes 5 hours for the whole trek to complete where in between you can spot Leopard , Sloth bear , peafowl and other jungle birds if luck is in your favour !! Apart from astonishing nature, historical places like Madhugiri Fort and Channarayandurga fort . Though the trek will be a little tricky with rocky terrains and paths, you can also explore caves. Exploring the cave will be quite easy as there are well laid paths led by the adventurers who visited once .
Devarayanadurga
Present at a height of 4000ft above sea level, Devarayanadurga hill is a beautiful trekking spot . Taking 3 hours to complete this hill is covered with lush greenery and hilly terrain . Apart from natural treat, this hill is also famous for Vishnu temple and Lakshmi Narayan Narsimha Swamy temple. Visiting Yoganarasimha and Bhoganaraimha will bring spirituality inside . The beautiful place is a maze of dense forests and Rocky hills which is quite easy to trek but it will leave you spellbound with beautiful locations.
